Apologies for bringing you this months literary overview a week later than usual. Moving got in the way of normal life last week.

The festival and fairs calendar indicated that summer is truly over, as people around the world are getting busy talking about books.  While there are not many prizes awarded there are plenty of exciting novels being published. The obvious omission from my list is Margaret Atwood’s MaddAddam, which was published in the US on 3 September. I try to announce only the first publication date of a book, to avoid repeating books too many times, and this particular novel was published in the UK and Canada already last month. At this point I cannot but mention that a copy of MaddAddam is waiting in my shelf, signed by Ms Atwood herself, when she came and spoke in Brussels last week. Cannot wait to read it!
