Among the many literary awards in April the Pulitzer prize stand out, but those who are interesting in the literature coming out of the Caribbean should keep an eye out for what is going on at the BOCAS Lit Fest, where several prizes are awarded towards the end of the month.

Among the books published I am looking forward to Kamila Shamsie’s latest novel “A God in Every Stone” but as usual there are books for many tastes. One book sure to cause some controversy is Look Who’s Back by Timur Vermes; a story about how Adolf Hitler wakes up in modern times and becomes a media star. For a more serious reflection on the theme of the Holocaust, In Paradise by Peter Matthiesen, seems like a good bet.
