The Pulitzer Prize might be the the most awaited prize this month, but there is a lot of other things going on as well. Among other things Science Fiction fans on both sides of the Atlantic are looking forward to the best of the genre to be announced while top Caribbean writers receive awards.

The Caribbean prizes are awarded at the NGC Bocas Lit Fest which promises to be a great festival again this year, but it is not only in the sunny Caribbean that literature is celebrated, festivals are taking place in less warm climates like Canada and the UK as well.

Last but not least, April is another interesting month for book releases with Toni Morrison’s latest novel published towards the end of the month, in addition to a number of other promising reads, from Science Fiction thriller (The Dead Lands by Benjamin Percy) to humour (Love, Sex and Other Foreign Policy Goals by Jesse Armstrong and A Decent Ride by Irvine Welsh) and an interesting take on the historical novel (Sophie and the Sibyl: A Victorian Romance by Patricia Duncker).
